How do I grab an audio CD?
MediaMaster is wizard-based, making it quick and simple to perform the
most common functions. The wizard will run automatically when you start
the program. To rip a CD to your hard drive, simply select "CD-Audio"
under "Grabbing." This will allow you to choose which drive you want to
grab from and which folder to drop your output files to. If you choose MP3
as the output format, you also have the option of choosing the bitrate,
from 32 to 320 kb/s. (Hint - higher bitrate means better quality, but also
results in a larger file size. 128 is a common quality because it produces
good sound and the file size is roughly 1 MB per minute of music.)
Once you've selected your source and your output location, the wizard will
take you to the main program interface, where you can check off which
tracks you'd like to grab. Then just press the "Grab Audio CD" button in
the toolbar, and you're done! It's that easy.
How Do I rip DVD Video?
It's just as simple as ripping an audio CD. Just select your drive
location and output folder in the Wizard, then choose your audio and video
output options and click the "DVD" button in the toobar. That's it.
Can I rip the DVD movie using this software?
MediaMaster will not rip copyrighted DVD programs.
How do I create Audio CDs using MediaMaster?
MediaMaster can convert any WAV or MP3 file to an Audio CD format. This
means you can listen to your music anywhere you would a standard CD... in
a home stereo, in the car or in a portable CD player. This is again
accomplished through the wizard, which will guide you through the easy
3-step process. Within minutes, you've got a completed Audio CD, ready to
take with you anywhere.
Can I make a Video CD using this software?
Of course. Just as easily as you can create an Audio CD, you can burn a
Video CD as well. Simply select any MPG or MPEG source file that is
compatible with Video CD (320x240 or 352x288), and you've got a Video CD
with the push of a button.
Will it work on all CD and DVD Burners?
If you can find a CD or DVD burner that it doesn't work on, you should
seriously consider upgrading! In our testing with many brands (including
ATAPI and SCSI CD/DVD drives from Sony, Yamaha, Pioneer, Teac, LG, and
TDK), MediaMaster has worked on all of them.
How can I create a Data CD or Data DVD?
Just as with creating an Audio or Video CD, the wizard will take you
through three simple steps. First, you select your output format.
MediaMaster can burn data in either the Joliet or ISO-9660 file systems.
Why should you care? These are industry standards which guarantee that
you'll be able to retrieve your data on any operating system... Windows,
Mac and Linux.
Next, select the files you want to burn to CD or DVD and lastly (and this
shouldn't even really count as a step because there's really nothing to
it), just push a button on the toolbar and you're done.
What if I want to copy a whole disc? Do I still have to select all the
files on the disc individually?
No you don't. MediaMaster makes it easy to copy the contents of an entire
disc with a one-click process. It doesn't get any easier than that!
MediaMaster will not, however, copy any encrypted or copy-protected discs,
such as DVD movies. Attempts to do so may violate state and federal
copyright laws.
Does it include CDDB lookup, or ID3 support?
The current version of MediaMaster does not support these features, but we
are constantly evaluating our customers' needs. We'd like to hear from
you. Let us know what features are most important to you, so we may
include those features in future releases.
Which audio and video formats does MediaMaster support?
MediaMaster handles most popular formats. For audio, you can convert from
WAV to MP3, MP3 to WAV and between varying codecs of WAV formats. For
video, you can convert from AVI (with PCM uncompressed sound) to MPEG-1,
from VOB to AVI and between varying codecs of AVI. All codecs must reside
on the native system in order to convert between those codecs. |
